I got this for when I sit out back at night to relax. The mosquitoes are horrible here. I don't know why but for some reason I thought this was solar powered but it is plug in. Which I should of known and am happy it is because it is much more powerful then the solar one I do have. Luckily at have outdoor power sockets right by the back deck. It's lightweight and comes ready for use. This is a great bug zapper for attracting bugs, moths, flies and most importantly, mosquitos! Right after I plugged this zapper in I started hearing the bugs getting toasted. Within a week the bottom of the unit was covered is zapped insects. Does it work? You bet it did. I could not be more pleased wit the result. It has now been going for 2.5 months now 24/7 and still going strong. Glad I ordered it for out front porch area. For the money, this is a great deal and yard must. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.Every year we have a fly issue around July - September. We have tried everything to get rid of them in the house but it’s not always as fast or efficient. We just left it in the middle of the dining room table and turned off the lights and it did it’s magic overnight! It got rid of most of them in just the first night.I use this for bugs all bugs it catches too works very wellWe ordered this to enjoy our back porch and try to alleviate some of the summer bugs that go along with enjoying the summer evenings. Bugs definitely are attracted to it and the zapper does its job. It is a plugin so keep that in mind or you might have to run an extension cord but regardless, we can definitely feel the difference when using this unit. It's also easy to empty out the tray. We recommend. This is a great purchase. I use it on the deck. I only plug it in when we are sitting outside at night. It does what it says, attracts flying insects. The birds LOVE it when I empty it out on the railings. They seem to like crispy critters for breakfast. I have had it outside when it's been raining, and had no issues. This is a good size to have outside. It's protected from the rain. It doesn't make too much noise. It works well with mosquitoes not just flies. It's easy to clean. Definitely worth it to make life more enjoyable.I put this outside, and it was quite busy after sunset. All sorts of bugs were drawn in by the light and promptly zapped. Cleaning is very easy. Just make sure to short out the grid after unplugging the unit. Open the bottom, then you pull down a rod that cleans the grid. If there is anything left, use the included brush to remove what's there. Put it back together, and it's ready to murder more bugs.I haven't had this very long, so I can't tell you how long this will last. It's advertised as outdoor or indoor, and we have one in the bedroom to catch any flies that may get into the house. We put one outside to reduce the mosquito population. The only downside I see is that this kills not only mosquitoes, but many beneficial insects, too, leaving less insects for the local bat population to eat.
