I have a 1980s home with several closets that aren't wired for electricity or lit inside. I wanted something super bright. I bought two lights for a 6 foot closet and put one on each side. We bought an inexpensive closet kit at Lowe's, sanded, repainted the walls, hung these lights and organized the clothing by color and function. When you open the door you'd think a professional was here. I bought another set and placed one light each in very small closets. Pay attention to what the other reviewer said about taking the screw off the base altogether to start installation. It's a necessary step that is not in the directions! This light was delivered without the mounting piece and did not notice in time. Waiting to hear back to get this to actually be able to use!Update: called and informed the missing piece and a replacement will be sent tomorrow. Hopefully there is no missing piece this timeJust bought an old house that lacks any form of overhead lighting in any room including our bathroom. Showering in the dark isn’t a fun experience. Anyway, bought the set for the bathroom, one directly over the shower stall and one near the toilet area. Really wanted to brighten up the bathroom and these did the job. Light is plenty bright and installation is a breeze. They look okay as well. That said, the motion censor is interesting because it picks me up walking past my bathroom and that’s quite far. Slightly annoying since it’s washing that extra battery for the light activating. I will say, having a few options on these lights like controlling motion sensitivity or controlling how long the light stays on after motion, would be great additions. The light doesn’t stay on as long as I’d like sometimes. All that said, they’re solid lights and I’ll likely buy more for closets and stuff.I recently bought an older house with limited lighting/electrical set up in it. Over my stairs there is absolutely no light source which was frustrating. I saw these on sale at a hardware store and figured why not?My expectations were very low, but something is better than nothing right?Well I put one of these at the top landing of my stairs and one at the bottom of the stairs. Let me tell you, honestly if I didn't know they were battery operated I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. They light up about the same amount as 1 40 watt light bulb, so think kind of like the same amount of light as your refrigerator light but from the ceiling so it lights up really well. The light is nicely dispersed so it illuminates the stair case awesomely. To the point that I have two walk in closets without light sources in them, so I bought two more now they are lit up just like a light is built in. I don't have a light source at the top of my basement stairs, so I added another one there. It works great. Now the cats do set them off continously all night (personally I like it because it gives the illusion that people are constantly walking around my house even when no one is here, and deters any unwanted house guests from checking the place out.You will burn through batteries if you're like me and the cats decide to go up and down the stairs hundreds of times each day. My stair lights I have to change every two weeks, my closet lights are about once a month. I personally decided that getting a ton of rechargeable 10,000 mah D batteries was the way to go. So every two weeks I recharge all the batteries for the house. Honestly it's been majorly worth it! I never have to worry about the power going out and having the nightmare of not having light because the lights even light up my living room next to the stairs.I've also bought the outdoor security lights, I've had one by the walkway from my garage to my house all winter long with regular batteries in it. Since there aren't tons of people moving in that area I haven't changed the batteries yet in 7 months. I have another one in my back porch and front porch that also have not had the batteries changed yet. I live in Wisconsin (we experience subzero temps most of the winter) so having an LED last all winter is a feat within itself... the fact that it was working the entire time was amazing.Anyone with lighting issues in specific areas I would recommend these lights to.Note that there is a little black tab by the batteries that you have to pull off in order to turn off the light sensing part of the light (in the case of my basement stairs and my closets I have other light that filters into the area which makes these not work right unless I turn take out the tab.)Also note that the light doesnt stay on continuously unless you are moving below it. So it's not ideal for areas where you'll be sitting around using the light as it'll turn off and on while you're under it.Was worried this wouldn't be bright enough, but it lights up the entire pantry and into the kitchen! Great purchase, motion detection is works well (sometimes almost too well, but we just keep the door closed now) and has lasted a while so far. Great purchase, we tried a different light before that worked awfully so our expectations were low. This blew us away.Love these lights. Have them in the closets and entrance doors. These lights are big enough to light up very well. We will have to see how long the batteries last, but all in all they are great!Initially we were pleased with this light. However we have only had this since April 2022 and have gone through so many sets of batteries. Now we only seem to get a few days of battery use before they need changing to give enough bright light. Very disappointed as it really helped a dark corner of our shower light up. Wouldn’t recommend (even with rechargeable batteries)Really happy I will buy another one for the caravanMy stand-up shower was really dark and I wanted a solution to provide light in it without having to rewire anything. When I fell upon this light I was a little skeptical at first. I mean, it says weather proof but I like showers so hot you can cook pasta in!! Anynoodle, installation was a breeze and I've tested it for almost a week now and there is zero effect of the steam on the light. Definitely would recommend!Pros:- Super bright- Looks great- Motion is sensitive enough that if you are to still and it turns off just move a finger and you're back in action.- Easy installation and everything is provided.- Looks to be pretty good at handling water/steam (in a bathroom setting).Cons:- In a shower situation, I wish there was a way to set the timer to stay on a little longer...- You need to buy batteries??All in all, great light for a great price!I purchased the water resistant Mr. Beams MB990 light to solve a difficult problem with an easy solution. I have a small ensuite bathroom with a small shower (40” x 35”). I needed to light up the dark shower but didn’t want the expense of running electrical wires for a hard-wired light. I also wanted the light to work if the rest of the bathroom was lighted outside of the shower. I was able to remove the photo sensor cap on the inside (located near the battery compartment) of the fixture. This set up enables the light fixture to go on in daylight as opposed to being restricted to turning on only when dark and sensing motion.Installing this motion sensor light into tile was easier than I thought it would be. I was nervous drilling into tile after reading how hard it was on websites. I purchased an 7/32” multi-material drill bit (diamond-ground carbide tip). The 7/32” size worked perfectly for the plastic anchors that came with the light. I taped off the areas I was going to drill and using my awl I lightly tapped a small indentation on the screw location marks I had drawn, to prevent the drill bit from jumping. Set my drill on number 7 (out of 15) to be middle speed and applied medium pressure. Took less then 4 minutes to drill all 4 holes. Complete installation took approximately 20 minutes including prep and clean up. The light works well and when I close the shower curtain across the opening the light does not come on if someone comes into the bathroom to use just the sink or toilet – won’t be wasting battery life. The light easily stays on while showering and doesn’t go out, but then I’m not standing still in the shower. Based on my initial usage of this light I would recommend it as an easy solution for lighting up an area without having to run electrical wires though joists and walls in an existing bathroom. This product works great, bright, easy to mount with one exception. After a period of time ( purchased this one May 13 now july 27) the motion sensor turns the light on fine BUT the light will not always go out which causes the batteries to drain prematurely. I have put 2 sets of batteries into this unit in last 2 weeks, first set i figured were just worn out, when second time the light was dim, i discovered it was not shutting off thus discharging the batteries fast. Light is in a separate room which is undisturbed with door shut so not sensing unwanted motion. Would not reccomend until issue is cured
